About Me

Gustavo Yánez Ramos was Born on June 2, 1959 in Tulcán, Ecuador. He studied anthropology for 4 years at the Catholic University of Quito, worked in Ecuador in various Ecuadorian TV programs and television stations, such as regional and international news channels. Since 1986 has held various workshops, courses andseminars in the field of photography, scriptwriting, directing, camera and editing. Relevant are the stay at the International Film School in San Antonio de los Baños en Cuba, the Institute of Radio and Television in Spain and the further training at the School for Radio Technology in Germany. Since 2014 I have been living and working in Germany, initially as a camera and cutter in various broadcasterssuch as Südwest Rundfunk SWR, Bayerischer Rundfunk BR, and NTV and private production companies. At thesame time he founded Tamia Film & TV where his owndocumentaries are produced as well as films, reportsand documentaries from various private companies. Since 2018 she has been employed by Bayerischer Rundfunk, Studio Franken. Gustavo Yánez Ramos hasproduced numerous documentaries and reports such as Behind Walls, which was shown at CINELATINO in 2000, as well as crab farming Umweltkiller, Die Indios Awa, 2002, Neue Weg and OCP, 2002, a film about theconstruction work on the new oil pipeline in Ecuador. His work is a reflection on the relationship between humans andnature and deals with the future of our environment. His last film "Galápagos, a paradise that is lost" portraysthe life of the inhabitants of the Galapagos Islands andshows the living conditions of the people in the island ofSanta Cruz, where most of the inhabitants of the Galapagos live.
